Welcome to the Savanna School District
Where Today's Learners Become Tomorrow's Leaders
The First Day of School was Monday, August 17
Based on the Governor’s July 17 Order, we will begin the 2020-21 school year with 100% Distance Learning through the end of the first trimester for all students. The first trimester ends on Friday, October 30. If Orange County is removed from the state’s COVID-19 monitoring list sooner than the end of the first trimester, the district will begin a transition process to shift to on-campus instruction. Please know that our District is committed to ensuring that our Distance Learning Program is meaningful and representative of the high caliber of education that Savanna School District is known for. Students will be expected to attend daily to take full advantage of daily live standards-based lessons, rigorous and engaging pre-recorded lessons, small group instruction, and grade-appropriate assignments. Students will be graded on the assignments they submit; grades with progress toward their grade level standards will be issued.

Below is a Sample Learning Model. Please keep in mind that teachers will provide specific daily/weekly schedules customized to their grade level and specific curricular expectations. This is provided for information purposes only.
Please read all the information from your child’s teacher and school principal with specific details.
While we can’t wait to have our students back on campus, please know that the safety of students and staff is one of our highest priorities. While this isn’t the way any of us expected to begin the school year, I know our students will continue to have strong learning opportunities through Distance Learning.
Numbered for Success
What a special place Savanna School District is! Encompassing parts of the cities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress and Stanton, Savanna School District is an elementary school district with approximately 2400 students. These students attend one of our four schools: Cerritos, Hansen, Holder and Twila Reid Schools. We also serve about 250 preschoolers in state and privately-run preschools on our campuses.
