Where Today's Learners Become Tomorrow's Leaders

Welcome to the 2026-27 School Year!

The Savanna School District logo features a red apple with four white stars and the text 'EST. 1904'.Welcome to the 2026–27 school year! At Savanna School District, we’re excited to partner with our families, staff, and community as we continue our mission of shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders. We remain committed to providing exceptional educational opportunities that inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and empower every student to reach their full potential.

This year, we’re building on a strong foundation of academic excellence by strengthening collaboration among teachers, enhancing our instructional program and practices, and providing personalized support to help every student succeed. Through innovative teaching, meaningful learning experiences, and a focus on continuous improvement, we’re preparing students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need for future success.

We’re proud to continue expanding opportunities that support the whole child. Our District-wide Visual and Performing Arts program provides students with experiences in dance, theatre arts, and choral music, helping them develop creativity, confidence, collaboration, and self-expression. We are especially excited that Hansen School has been selected to participate in the highly competitive Disney Musicals in Schools program, creating unique opportunities for students to experience the performing arts in new and exciting ways.

Technology continues to play an important role in student learning. Through access to digital tools students are developing the skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly connected world.

Learning extends beyond the school day through our W.I.N.G.S. Expanded Learning Program, where students engage in enriching opportunities that include academic support, STEM exploration, the arts, physical wellness, and hands-on learning experiences. We’re equally proud to continue serving our youngest learners through the B.R.I.G.H.T. Learners Academy, which provides high-quality early learning experiences for children ages 18 months to four years old and helps build the foundation for lifelong learning and success.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. This year, we have enhanced our school safety systems through upgraded communication technology and continued partnerships with local law enforcement agencies to ensure our schools remain safe, welcoming, and supportive environments for learning.

We’re also committed to strengthening communication and family engagement. Through improved communication tools and enhanced school and district websites, families will have greater access to important information and resources, making it easier than ever to stay connected and engaged in their child’s educational journey.

We’re grateful for the dedication of our staff, the support of our families, and the partnership of our community. Together, we look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, achievement, and memorable milestones as we continue preparing Today’s Learners to become Tomorrow’s Leaders.
