Fiscal Accountability

Reports to our community on required website postings related to fiscal accountability can be accessed below. Questions regarding the information contained in these documents may be directed to Mr. Eric Fano at eric.fano@savsd.org.

  • The Education Protection Account (EPA) provides local educational agencies with general purpose state aid funding pursuant to Proposition 30, the Schools and Local Public Safety Protection Act of 2012, approved by the voters on November 6, 2012. The EPA funding is a component of Savanna School District's total revenue limit.

  • School districts are required to work with their stakeholders to develop a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), which explains how monies will be spent to meet the needs of English learners, low income students, and foster youth. The LCAP must also address how monies will be spent in each of the state’s eight priority areas:basic services, state standards, parent involvement, student achievement, student engagement, school climate, course access, and other student outcomes. Parents, school staff, community members, bargaining units servicing the Savanna School District’s English Learners, Foster Youth, low income students and students with special needs, were given an opportunity to respond to a stakeholder survey and to attend a variety of meetings. The Proposed 2025-2026 Local Control Accountability Plan will be presented to the Board of Trustees on May 13, 2025 with a public hearing following for input and/or comments.
