Savanna School District Foundations
Supporting Our Schools, Staff, and Students
The Savanna School District is fortunate to be supported by two independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) foundations, each dedicated to strengthening our school community in its own unique and meaningful way.
The Savanna Educational Foundation supports our teachers and classrooms by providing mini-grants that help educators purchase materials, resources, and other items that enhance teaching and learning. Through this support, teachers are able to bring creative ideas and valuable learning opportunities directly to their students.
The S.T.A.R.S. Community Foundation supports children and families by helping provide clothing, shoes, and other basic necessities. Its work helps ensure that students have access to essential items that support their well-being and ability to fully participate in school.
Each foundation is governed by its own independent Board of Directors and operates as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. While their areas of focus are different, both foundations share a common purpose: supporting the staff and students of the Savanna School District.
Tax-deductible donations are always welcome and help these foundations continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of our staff and students.
Savanna Educational Foundation
The Savanna Educational Foundation was established in 2011 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a clear mission: to support, enhance, and expand educational opportunities for students throughout the Savanna School District.
The Foundation is a valued partner in helping support programs, provide resources and experiences that enrich learning and extend opportunities beyond what traditional funding sources can provide. Through the generosity of individuals, families, businesses, community organizations, and dedicated volunteers, the Foundation helps bring innovative ideas and meaningful learning experiences to life in our classrooms and schools.
A key focus of the Foundation is supporting educators through mini-grants that provide funding for classroom materials, resources, and innovative projects. These grants give teachers the opportunity to enhance instruction, introduce creative learning experiences, and provide students with resources that directly support their growth and success.
At Savanna, we believe every child deserves opportunities to discover their strengths, pursue their interests, and reach their full potential. The support of our community plays an essential role in making those opportunities possible. Whether through a financial contribution, volunteer service, business partnership, or advocacy, every act of support helps make a meaningful difference for Savanna students.

S.T.A.R.S. Community Foundation
The S.T.A.R.S. Community Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a heartfelt mission: to support students in the Savanna School District by helping provide clothing, shoes, and other basic necessities that contribute to their well-being, confidence, and success in school.
The Foundation serves as a caring community partner, helping ensure that students have access to essential items they need to feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. By responding to the individual needs of children and families, the Foundation provides meaningful assistance that can make an immediate and lasting difference in a student’s life.
A key focus of the S.T.A.R.S. Community Foundation is providing practical support to students experiencing need. Through the generosity of individuals, families, businesses, community organizations, and dedicated volunteers, the Foundation helps provide clothing, shoes, school-related necessities, and other essential items. This support allows students to focus more fully on learning, participating in school activities, building relationships, and experiencing the sense of belonging that every child deserves.
