Twila Reid Elementary
Welcome to Twila Reid School!

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year, Reid Rams!
My name is Ms. Lauren Stuart, and I’m thrilled to begin my second year as Principal of Twila Reid Elementary School. After an incredible first year getting to know our students, staff, and families, I’m more excited than ever for the opportunities, growth, and successes that await us this year. It’s truly a privilege to be part of such a caring, energetic, and supportive school community.
Before joining Twila Reid, I had the pleasure of teaching at Hansen School and serving as principal at Cerritos School for six years. Those experiences strengthened my belief that every child deserves a school where they feel valued, supported, challenged, and inspired to achieve their very best. I’m proud to bring that commitment to Reid each day.
Twila Reid School, home of the Rams, is a special place where students are encouraged to learn, grow, and shine. Nestled next to Twila Reid Park in West Anaheim, our campus is filled with enthusiastic learners, dedicated educators, and supportive families who work together to create a positive and welcoming environment for all. We’re committed to helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally while fostering creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
One of the things I love most about Reid is the incredible spirit our students bring to campus every day. Reid Rams truly ROCK! They are Respectful, Own their actions, Cooperative, and Kind. These values guide our students as they build friendships, take on challenges, demonstrate leadership, and contribute positively to our school community. Whether in the classroom, on the playground, or at a school event, our Rams consistently show what it means to ROCK.
At Reid, we celebrate learning, growth, and positive behavior in many ways. From our monthly Flag Ceremonies and PBIS celebrations to exciting PTA events and school activities, there are countless opportunities for students to connect, be recognized, and create lasting memories. We’re proud of the strong sense of community that makes Reid such a wonderful place to learn and grow.
As we begin this new school year, I’m especially excited to see all that our students will accomplish. Every year brings new opportunities to discover talents, reach goals, make new friends, and achieve great things. I know our Rams will continue to impress us with their kindness, perseverance, and determination.
Thank you for being such an important part of the Reid family. Together, we will make the 2026–27 school year one filled with learning, laughter, growth, and success. I can't wait to see our Rams ROCK this year!
Go Rams!

Reid School's Instructional Program
At Twila Reid School, we’re committed to providing meaningful learning experiences that challenge, engage, and inspire every student. Our instructional practices are aligned with California State Standards and designed to ensure all students develop the academic, social, and emotional skills needed for success in school and beyond. Through high expectations, engaging instruction, and strong relationships, we strive to create a learning environment where students feel supported, confident, and excited to learn each day.
A strong foundation in literacy remains a priority at Reid. Students are encouraged to expand their academic vocabulary, strengthen their reading comprehension, think critically, and communicate effectively through both speaking and writing. We also continue to emphasize the importance of cursive writing. Students in grades 3–6 will learn, practice, and be expected to use cursive writing as an important tool for written communication and academic success.
We’re excited to continue expanding opportunities in the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA). Through experiences in dance, theatre arts, and choral music, students have opportunities to express their creativity, build confidence, collaborate with others, and discover new talents. These enriching experiences help students develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom while fostering a deeper connection to school and learning.
Last year, Reid implemented a new History-Social Science curriculum that encourages students to explore communities, cultures, historical perspectives, and civic responsibility. This year, we look forward to piloting a new math curriculum designed to deepen conceptual understanding, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop mathematical reasoning, helping students become confident and capable thinkers.
These instructional priorities will be woven throughout every classroom and grade level as we prepare students for future success. At Reid, we believe learning flourishes when students feel safe, supported, and connected. Our dedicated staff works hard to create a positive and nurturing environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
As Reid Rams, we proudly demonstrate what it means to ROCK by being Respectful, Owning our actions, Cooperative, and Kind. These values guide our students as they grow academically, build meaningful relationships, and become positive contributors to their school and community.
We’re excited for another outstanding year of learning, growth, and achievement as our Reid Rams continue to ROCK!
